We do something different
Some sites teach you how to cook. We teach you how to learn how to cook. Big difference!
You’re here because something is missing.
Maybe it’s the technique. Maybe it’s the science.
Or maybe you’re just lacking the confidence and courage to do something special in your kitchen.
Either way, you’re overwhelmed by the volume of information out there. It seems like it’s all noise and no signal.
But that’s where we come in. We’ll take your hands and mind to places they’ve never gone before.
By the way, it’s Tony here, curator of The Northwest Method and co-founder of Northwest Culinary Academy of Vancouver. I’ve taught thousands of people just like you, so you’re in the right place.
What we do is fairly simple—but it’s also unconventional.
We start with a clean slate. We treat you as a sharp and dedicated learner. We also let you in on everything we’ve discovered as educators, not just chefs.
Huge difference, by the way.
From there, we take you through impactful practices—from knife cuts to plating.
No one is teaching you like this.
So let’s make it happen. Make your kitchen feel like a studio—a place of play and personal evolution.
You bring the chops, we’ll bring The Method.
Speaking of which, once you’re done exploring The Method below, we invite you to sign up for our free 5-Day Kitchen Confidence Crash Course at the bottom of this page.
This will give you a taste of how we teach, and more importantly, how and what you’ll learn.
What we’ll teach you
That’s the essence of The Northwest Method. It’s unconventional. It gets you to practice, think, move and challenge yourself like never before.
I actually went into it liking the idea of being able to cook, but disliking the cooking itself. My hope was that having some basics would change that. It did. I think the course actually helped unlock a passion for cooking I didn’t even realize I had to this extent. I absolutely love it.
I have never taken classes that are so informative and detailed oriented. The teachers are incredible and keep you engaged the whole way through.
